New Hybrid Evaporative Cooling Technology Saves You Green & Keeps You Cool.

/Environment News Articles/ - New Castle, DE, August 07, 2008 - With residential cooling costs continuing to increase, cooling a moderately sized home in many parts of the country now costs hundreds of dollars a month. The cost of cooling has risen a remarkable 12% in the last two years and continues to climb with the temperatures and stress traditional air conditioners create on our environment.

Finding an alternative to spare your sweat, wallet & the environment has not been an easy task but, relief has arrived. A new hybrid evaporative cooling system, OASys, is making staying cool, saving green, and being eco friendly a reality. The OASys hybrid air conditioning system cuts air cooling bills by 80% while still maintaining comfortable levels of cooling and improving indoor air quality.

OASys utilizes an indirect/direct evaporative cooling process, where outdoor air is first cooled without adding moisture in the Indirect Cooling Module. The air then passes through the Direct Cooling Module where it is cleansed and humidity is optimized. The cool air is brought in through conventional ducts and exits by roof vents. The system utilizes a small amount of water, which is periodically renewed through a self-purging system.

Testing performed by Pacific Gas & Electric confirms that OASys consumes 20% less energy than a direct evaporative cooler and 83% less than a 3-ton air conditioner. When operating at full power OASys uses less than 600 watts compared to the 4,000 watts used by an air conditioner of similar size. The tests performed by PG&E also showed that OASys delivers air that is 50% colder than air delivered by single stage evaporative coolers.

Saving green while being green is easy with OASys. Switching from a 10 SEER AC unit to OASys will result in a reduction of over 100,000 lbs. of Carbon Dioxide-the equivalent of taking nine cars off the road for a year or planting thirteen acres of forest! By using a continuous supply of outdoor air, OASys removes indoor air pollutants, improving indoor air quality while reducing energy. OAsys also expels water which is safe to use on gardens and landscaping. OASys is not just good to the green outside, but to the green in your wallet as well. A traditional air conditioner costs around 24 cents an hour to operate on a 90-95 degree day in California, while OASys costs around 1 cent an hour at continuous low-speed operation.
