John Bradley Mitchell Honored for Demonstrating Excellence in Energy
Brad Mitchell has been named an Executive of the Year for 2011-2012

SUGAR LAND, TX, October 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Bradley Mitchell, President and Managing Director of Energia Tejas LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing enthusiasm, leadership and excellence in the energy industry.

Mr. Mitchell has been providing commercial leadership to energy businesses since the early 1990s. At the helm of Energia Tejas, which he co-founded in 2008, he draws upon his previous experience as a law firm partner and as CEO of Acute Technological Services, Inc., a Houston-based international energy service company. During his tenure there, he was responsible for managing the growth of the company from 27 employees and $11 million in revenue to 126 employees and $38 million. Mr. Mitchell is dedicated to Energia Tejas' strategic objectives and remains a hands-on manager of both finance and operations. Since 2008, Energia Tejas has generated and begun developing two significant oil projects that are expected to produce more than 53 million barrels of oil. With Energia Tejas he manages accounting and financial reporting while also directing the geological and geophysical activities required for exploration and production. The company is focused on developing reserves from proven oil and gas fields via the application of horizontal drilling and advances in hydraulic fracturing techniques. Optimistic and inspired by his faith in God, Mr. Mitchell intends to build Energia Tejas with a portfolio of long lived oil reserves with more than 2,500 barrels of daily production per day.

Before realizing his passion for the operations of the energy business, Mr. Mitchell obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Delaware, followed by a JD from The University of Tulsa College of Law. As a partner in the Houston-based law firm of Roberts Markel, P.C., which he joined in 1993, Mr. Mitchell rapidly built a commercial and business law practice supporting oil and gas companies and oilfield service companies. It was during his tenure at Roberts Markel, that he became fascinated with oil exploration and the myriad service companies that support the energy industry. He counseled startups, management buyouts, acquisitions, divestitures, and companies going through initial and subsequent rounds of debt and equity financing. Then Mr. Mitchell followed his passion into the energy industry. While first serving as CEO in energy services from 2005 to 2009, he began to invest in exploration and production. He moved into exploration and production full time in 2009 as Energia Tejas became firmly established. He is currently a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, and the oil, gas and mineral law section of the State Bar of Texas.
