The Town of Aurora: Pursuing Energy Efficiency

CARLSBAD, CA, October 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In a report in Energy Digital, the Town of Aurora explains it progress toward becoming a more energy efficient town.

The Town of Aurora is focused on becoming a greener community. Implementing action plans, utilizing an environmental advisory committee and employing a Manager of Environmental Initiatives, the town is progressing toward becoming more environmentally sustainable.

The Town of Aurora is in its first year of applying its Corporate Environmental Action Plan. Separated into four categories: Air, Fire, Water and Earth, the town's environmental advisory committee reports to Council and is practical in implementing plans to make Aurora more energy efficient.

The Town of Aurora is pursuing community involvement. Installing seventeen anti-idling signs to promote the initiative throughout town and participating on Earth Hour in 2010, residents are starting to see the benefits of environmental initiatives.

"An Earth Hour campaign was developed to engage residents in Earth Hour and increase awareness of the Town's environmental awareness," says Christina Nagy-Oh, Town of Aurora Manager of Environmental Initiatives.
